From Anime Roots to Dungeon Boots
Managing a specialized expedition team is one thing; doing it while navigating monster-infested depths is quite another. We sat down with the developer to talk about the roadmap, the community's influence, and the livestock feature that almost was.
Here is the full breakdown of our conversation:
1. What is the one "must-have" feature you want to perfect before the full release?
"One feature I really want to include is the ability to capture creatures found in dungeons and raise them as livestock. It was part of the original plan, but we couldn’t fit it in before Early Access due to time constraints."
2. How much of the current roadmap is being shaped by early community feedback?
"The overall direction of the roadmap has remained largely consistent with what the team originally envisioned, and it also aligns closely with what the community seems to want. This is partly because the missing or underdeveloped areas were fairly clear. That said, community feedback has been extremely helpful in refining the details, and we’re planning many improvements based on it moving forward."
3. Do you plan on expanding the settlement management side or the dungeon exploration side more as development continues?
"We’re planning to put more emphasis on dungeon exploration. There are still quite a few areas that feel underdeveloped, so we want to expand it with more events, monsters, and overall content."
4. What was the original "lightbulb moment" that made you start this specific project?
"It started from watching dungeon exploration anime like Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? and Delicious in Dungeon. I thought it would be really fun to have a game where you manage an expedition team while exploring dungeons—that idea became the foundation of this project."
