Found this one while doing my usual late-night Reddit crawl. I saw a hexagonal pitch and a ball, and for a second, I thought someone had finally made a proper tactical football game.
I hit up the devs at Taka Studio to see if it was legit. Turns out, they’re aiming for a Chess meets Football vibe where your brain does the heavy lifting, not your thumbs. They just dropped their Steam page yesterday, so here’s the lowdown:
| Feature | Developer Insight |
| Core Gameplay | A Chess meets Football hybrid focusing on long-term strategy rather than quick reflexes. |
| Movement | Uses an Action Point (AP) system. You can’t move the same player twice in one turn. |
| Luck vs. Skill | Outcome is Dice + Stats. Includes a Weighted Dice mechanic to prevent long streaks of bad luck. |
| The Pitch | Action is not stuck in one part of the field, in-game drama can happen anywhere and the developers consistently look to improve this. |
| Online | Features a Draft System where you pick 2 out of 4 players to build a balanced, non-meta squad. |
| Single Player | A Career Mode with leagues, tournaments, and an EXP/training system for player growth. |
| Learning Curve | Simple enough for a casual player to start, but high skill-based matchmaking keeps it competitive. |
| Defense | Currently the "tricky part" of dev; they are working on making defending more interactive and fun. |
| Variety | Currently, players feel similar, but "Star Player" indicators and unique effects are in development. |
| Muses | Non-sports strategy titles like Baldur’s Gate for deep decision-making systems. |
