Endometriosis Awareness

Endometriosis - The Biological Reality:

It is a systemic condition where tissue similar to the lining of the womb grows elsewhere in the body. It causes chronic pain, inflammation, and internal scarring.

  • The Statistic: It affects roughly 1 in 10 women and those assigned female at birth in the UK, approximately 1.5 million people.

  • The Delay: On average, it takes 8 years from the first onset of symptoms to get a formal diagnosis.

Pain and Resilience:

When chronic physical pain meets chronic psychological stress, it creates a "Double Siege." The body is in a constant state of "High Alert," which drains the battery of even the strongest individuals. To see someone navigate both is to witness a level of Resilience that most will never understand.

Being Strong Support:
  1. Reduce the Decision Load: Don't simply ask what the person needs, observe and provide.
  2. Be Consistent: Be the silent, stable building that remains upright while a storm is raging.
  3. Validation Without Demand: Acknowledge pain without demanding the sufferer "cheer up" for your benefit.
